At Haulmark, we are committed to building the best performing, best looking motorcoaches. Our motorcoaches are RVIA certified.
Freightliner chassis
We build many motorcoaches on Freightliner chassis, known for legendary engineering plus maximum reliability, durability and efficiency. Some of our most prestigious motorcoaches ride on the Freightliner Coronado platform, with a 515 hp, 1550 lb.-ft. toque Mercedes Benz or Detroit Diesel engine mated to a 12-speed automatic transmission. The Freightliner CL 120 Columbia is our most popular chassis. It features a Detroit Diesel engine with 450 hp, 1550 lb.-ft. torque, plus a 12-speed automatic transmission. We also build our smallest motorcoaches on the Freightliner M2 chassis with 300 or 350 hp, 850 lb.-ft. torque Cat engine and a 6-speed transmission.
Support frame
For maximum structural integrity, we create a solid foundation for the coach. We place 8-inch I-beams on top of the chassis frame rails and then we add 3-inch C-channel crossmembers on top of the I-beams every 16 inches for added strength.
Solid floor Cross-section of the floor
The flooring starts with an aluminum vapor barrier on which we add a layer of insulation. The sub floor is made of hefty 3/4-inch tongue and groove plywood sheets. Next we glue the joints – a Haulmark exclusive. With no butt-end joints to pop up or wrinkle, you’re assured of a flat, even floor throughout.
Here are a few examples of Haulmark firsts – industry leading designs found in our motor coaches.
Air-like jounce bumpers
Freightliner places air-like jounce bumpers and shock absorbers between the cab and the frame to help cushion the ride. But it's hard to retain these shock absorbers since the coach and cab are integrated. In fact, the competition replaces them with rigid steel fasteners. We have found a way to keep the factory-installed shock absorption system (an industry first), so you can enjoy a smoother ride.
Plumbing lines
To ensure ease of maintenance and the best protection from cold weather, we route all fresh water plumbing above the floor but out of sight (an industry first). We don't sandwich the lines between the flooring, where it's difficult to access, like the competition does.
Baggage compartment
Each baggage compartment consists of a sturdy steel box that’s lighted for increased visibility. Dual gas struts make it easy to open the 1 1⁄2 inch thick, insulated door which angles up more than 90 degrees for easy access.
Entry step
Made from solid steel and welded to the frame, the entry steps are incredibly sturdy. No bouncing and wobbling like some RV steps.
Flush-floor slide-out
The "wide slide" adds living space to the coach, while the flush-floor feature makes it easy to move about without tripping.
Thermo pane windows
Energy-efficient thermo pane windows are standard
Haulmark motorcoaches are built to look and perform like a winner.
The smooth, high-luster Gel Coat finish – the same used on high-end motor homes – is great for graphics.
One-piece aluminum sheeting over the crowned roof trusses sheds water easily and is strong enough to support your weight.
